With the support of SOCAR and the Embassy of Italy, the exhibition of the project “Svaneti - A Relative Play of Time and Space. Vittorio Sella - Nika Lebanidze” has been taking place at the Zurab Tsereteli Museum of Modern Art from June 4 to July 20.

The project retraces the route travelled by Vittorio Sella in Svaneti 135 years ago, covering the locations of Becho, Mulakhi, Muzhali, the Ushba Plateau, Ebudi, Mazeri, Mestia, Ushguli, and Adishi. The exhibition presents a visual narrative created by juxtaposing Sella’s archival materials with Nika Lebanidze’s expedition photographs from 2025-2026, reflecting the changes brought about over time and the current state of these places.

Developed in cooperation with the National Museum and the Svaneti Museum, the project brings together ecological and urban development themes. The main object of the research is the road, while its subject is time.

For SOCAR, supporting projects of this kind is closely linked to promoting cultural heritage, contemporary art, and environmental awareness.
